The Grand Opening of Arkema Kuala Lumpur Office
8 October 2024 – After 14 years of continuous growth and transformation, Arkema is excited to celebrate the grand opening of their Arkema Kuala Lumpur Office at Menara UAC!
This event featured notable attendees from the Group, including COO Mr. Marc SCHULLER, Managing Director of South East Asia Mr. Kenny GAN, and members of the Malaysia Leadership Team—Mr. Yoon Hock CHONG, Mr. Mike SPRONKSMAN, and Mr. Fatzunnahar NGOPIL. Representatives from various Arkema Offices were also welcomed, including Singapore, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, and Kerteh, as well as their Kuala Lumpur Office colleagues administered by the Office Manager Ms. June YEOH who came together in solidarity to make the office transformation a reality.
Arkema was honored to have several VIP guests with them from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France-Malaysia represented by the President of CCIFM, Mr. Richard FOSTIER, the General Manager of CCIFM, Mr. David ATTAR and the National Cancer Society Malaysia, represented by the Marketing Director Mr. Chong Wei YEAP and Manager of Corporate Relations Ms. Michelle WONG, adding prestige to the occasion.
Arkema established their first office in Subang Jaya with less than 5 members. As the team grows, they found themselves a new home in Oasis Ara Damansara in year 2011, where they shared the space and facilities with their partner, CJ. In year 2017, CJ moved to another building to cater for their enlarging capacity. Meanwhile, as the number of staffs in Arkema office doubled quickly, Arkema took up the co-sharing space from CJ and expanded the office capacity in few renovations. Over the years, they have evolved and today they have 12 departments and 53 employees based at this office. From a more traditional layout to the modern and open concept design they enjoy today, their office has been reimagined to foster greater collaboration, innovation and flexibility.
The grand opening was nothing short of spectacular! The event began with a stunning Er-hu performance by their colleague from GASP, Lerroy LIM, setting a graceful and melodic tone for the day. The talented in-house emcees, Kelvin LOW and Catherine CHANG, led the event, showcasing the diverse abilities of Arkema's team.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the sand pouring event, as the sand filles, this also symbolizes the growth of the Arkema team and company as a whole. This is followed by the plaque signing by Arkema COO, Mr. Marc SCHULLER, whom mentioned “There will be no future for the Company without the right people, and setting up the right team at Malaysia certainly one of my key priority”. The celebration concluded with a cake cutting, marking the beginning of this exciting new journey.
In line with their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, Arkema is proud to contribute donation-in-kind of MYR30,000.00 to the National Cancer Society Malaysia.
Arkema organized a naming competition in the past few weeks among the employees of KL Office to propose a meaningful name to the main meeting room. Congratulations to Ms. Rui Yi LAW for the great name of “GEMILANG”, which is a Malay word which has the meaning of brilliant, glorious and truly signified the people here in Arkema.
Following the ceremony, they enjoyed a delightful lunch. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as ONE Arkema, celebrating their shared achievements and looking forward to the exciting future ahead.
