For those under 50 years old:

- be able to prove financial independence in Malaysia by providing documents attesting the possession of liquid assets of at least RM 1,500,000, as well as a minimum monthly salary of RM 40,000

For people aged 50 and over:

 - be able to prove financial independence in Malaysia by providing documents attesting the possession of liquid assets of at least RM 1,500,000 as well as a minimum monthly offshore income of RM 40,000

The MM2H visa not only allows you to enter and leave Malaysia at your convenience for 10 years, but also offers other benefits:

- overseas income is exempt from tax

- for members of the program wishing to acquire a place of residence, the minimum price for the purchase of property is lower than the standard price, depending on which State

- the MM2H visa grants your child under 18 the right to study in Malaysia

- for those over 50, possibility of working part-time (20 hours/week)

On the other hand, for those under 50 years of age, the work permit is the only solution for a foreigner to be allowed to practice his profession in Malaysia. In the same way, a student over 18 years of age will have to switch to a student visa.
